East Central Railway Apprentice 2025 Short Information: The East Central Railway (RRC/ECR) is inviting online applications for Act Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the designated trades at Divisions/Units in the
jurisdiction of East Central Railway against 1149 slots Notification No.- RRC/ECR/HRD/Act. Apprentice/2025-26. The training will be provided in various designated trades across different divisions and units within the East Central Railway’s jurisdiction. The Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway (RRC/ECR), is the designated nodal agency for managing online applications and creating the merit list.

East Central Railway Apprentice 2025 Educational Qualification

To be eligible, a candidate must have passed the Matriculation (10th grade) or
an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates must possess an ITI (National Trade Certificate) in a relevant trade, which can be issued by the National Council for Vocational Training or a Provisional Certificate from the National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training.

East Central Railway Apprentice 2025 Age Limit

Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years of age as of October 25, 2025 for East Central Railway Apprentice 2025. The upper age limit is relaxable for certain categories:

SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
OBC: 3 years relaxation
PwBD: 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates

East Central Railway Apprentice 2025 Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the apprenticeship training is based on a merit list. The merit list is prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, giving equal weight to both. In the case of a tie in marks, the older candidate is given preference. If the birth dates are also the same, the candidate who passed their matriculation exam earlier will be considered first. Document verification and a medical fitness check are mandatory for all selected candidates. The document verification will take place in the division/unit chosen by the candidate in their application.

East Central Railway Apprentice 2025 Application Process

Applications must be submitted online exclusively through the official RRC website. Candidates are advised to apply well before the closing date to avoid issues from heavy website traffic. An application fee of Rs. 100 is required, which is non-refundable. However, SC, ST, PwBD, and women candidates are exempt from paying this fee. The fee must be paid online via a payment gateway using a Debit/Credit card or Internet Banking.

Candidates are required to provide their 12-digit Aadhaar Card number during registration. For applicants from Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, and Assam, other valid government IDs like a voter ID, passport, or driving license can be used instead.
Fill in personal details and bio-data carefully.
Upload a recent color photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 20 kb and 70 kb.
Upload a scanned signature (3.5 cm x 1.5 cm) in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 10 kb and 30 kb. The signature must be in running handwriting, not in block or capital letters.
Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
Download and keep a printout of the completed application form for future reference and for document verification.
