PTI Instructor Vacancy 2026

DTTE Delhi invites applications for 216 Part Time Instructor posts across four ITI clusters for the 2026-27 academic session — here’s the pay scale, eligibility, trade-wise seats and the exact steps to apply.

📅 Posted: 09 September 2026 📍 Location: Delhi (NCT) — Multiple ITIs 🏢 Department: DTTE, Govt. of NCT of Delhi 🧾 Total Vacancies: 216

If you’re a diploma, degree or NTC/NAC holder looking to teach at a government Industrial Training Institute in Delhi, this is one to look at closely. The Directorate of Training and Technical Education (DTTE) has opened engagement of Part Time Instructors (PTIs) on a purely hourly basis for the 2026-27 academic session, spread across 47 trades and four ITI clusters in the capital.

QUICK FACTS

  • Post: Part Time Instructor (PTI) — engaged against Craft Instructor / Group Instructor equivalent roles
  • Total vacancies: 216, spread across 47 trades
  • Clusters: ITI AKS (Nizamuddin), ITI Pusa, ITI Jail Road, ITI Sirifort (Jija Bai ITI)
  • Engagement type: Purely temporary, hourly basis, valid till end of academic session 2026-27
  • Application mode: Offline only, submitted to the concerned cluster ITI
  • Window to apply: Within 15 days from the date of advertisement (confirm the exact issue date on the official notice)

01What This Recruitment Is About

Under the aegis of DTTE, Government of NCT of Delhi, eligible candidates are being invited to work as Part Time Instructors in Government Industrial Training Institutes. Unlike a regular teaching post, PTIs are paid strictly on an hourly basis for the theory and practical classes they take, and the engagement automatically ends with the academic session — there’s no claim to a permanent or contractual role afterward.

The final number of instructors engaged in each trade will depend on the functional requirement of the department at the time of engagement, so the vacancy figures below are indicative ceilings rather than guaranteed openings.

02Pay Scale / Honorarium

Payment is calculated per hour of teaching, with a separate rate for theory and practical classes, and a monthly ceiling regardless of hours taught.

Staff CategoryTheory Classes (per hour)Practical Classes (per hour)Max. Monthly Ceiling
PTI engaged against Craft Instructor or equivalent post₹500₹250₹30,000
Senior retired staff equivalent to Group Instructor or above (from DTTE / Industry / Armed Forces, on attaining 60 years of age)₹800₹400

Note: The monthly honorarium is capped at ₹30,000 per instructor irrespective of the category or number of hours taught.

03Eligibility Criteria

Qualification requirements are trade-specific, but they follow one common pattern across all 47 trades in this notice:

  • Degree route: A relevant B.Voc/Degree (AICTE/UGC recognised) with 1 year of experience in the relevant field
  • Diploma route: A relevant 3-year Diploma (or equivalent Advanced Diploma from DGT) with 2 years of experience in the relevant field
  • NTC/NAC/STC route: NTC/NAC/STC in the relevant trade with 3 years of experience in the relevant field
Important: NCIC under CITS is mandatory for all NTC/NAC/STC-qualified applicants. Candidates with a Degree or Diploma in the relevant trade can treat CITS as a desirable (not mandatory) qualification, subject to meeting the other prescribed conditions.

Age limit: Maximum 60 years for direct applicants. Senior retired staff equivalent to Group Instructor or above (from DTTE/Industry/Armed Forces on attaining 60 years) can be engaged up to a maximum of 65 years.

Since the exact degree/diploma stream differs for each of the 47 trades (for example, Electrician asks for Electrical Engineering while Cosmetology asks for a Beautician/Hair & Skin Care qualification), candidates should cross-check their own qualification against the trade-wise annexure in the official application form before applying.

Vacancies are distributed across four ITI clusters, and every cluster covers a distinct set of trades. A candidate may apply to more than one cluster, but a separate application is required for each trade and each cluster.
