$Eligibility Criteria
Technical Assistant (Post Codes 60–62)
- Code 60 – Automobile Engineering: First Class Diploma in Automobile Engineering
- Code 61 – Mechanical: First Class Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering
- Code 62 – Electronics & Communication: First Class Diploma in Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
Technician ‘B’ (Post Codes 63–68)
Common requirement: pass in SSLC/SSC/Matric/10th Standard, plus an ITI qualification (NTC or NAC from NCVT) in the matching trade — Turner, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or Electrician depending on the post code.
Cook ‘A’ (Post Code 70)
Pass in SSLC/SSC/Matric/10th Standard along with 5 years of experience as a Cook in a well-established hotel or canteen, supported by an experience certificate from the establishment (certificates from individuals are not accepted).
Fireman ‘A’ (Post Code 71)
Pass in SSLC/SSC/Matric/10th Standard, along with the prescribed physical fitness standards and a Preliminary Medical Examination Certificate uploaded with the online application.

Beyond basic pay, selected candidates get Dearness Allowance, HRA and Transport Allowance (where departmental housing/transport isn’t availed), coverage under the National Pension System, contributory medical facilities, subsidised canteen, LTC and House Building Advance as per applicable government rules.

- Post Codes 60 to 68 & 70: 18 to 35 years
- Post Code 71 (Fireman ‘A’): 18 to 25 years
Age relaxation applies where a post is reserved: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. Additional relaxation is available for serving government employees, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, widows, divorced women, judicially separated women who haven’t remarried, and meritorious sportspersons, as per Government of India orders.
$Selection Process
- Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’ & Cook ‘A’: Written Test (curriculum-based) followed by a Skill Test
- Fireman ‘A’: Written Test, Skill Test (Physical Efficiency Test) and a Detailed Medical Examination
Final selection is based purely on Written Test marks — the Skill Test is qualifying in nature (GO/NO-GO basis) and doesn’t add to the merit score. The Written Test runs offline in OMR format at Tirunelveli and Chennai; once you pick a test city during registration, it can’t be changed later.
Exam Pattern
- Technical Assistant & Technician ‘B’: 80 MCQs, 90 minutes; +1 for correct, −0.33 for wrong. Pass marks: 32/80 (UR), 24/80 (reserved categories)
- Cook ‘A’: 100 MCQs, 120 minutes, covering cooking knowledge, General Knowledge, English and Arithmetic; +1 for correct, −0.25 for wrong
- Fireman ‘A’: 100 MCQs, 120 minutes, covering basic chemistry, physics, mensuration, general English and current affairs; +1 for correct, −0.25 for wrong

All applicants need Aadhaar (or PAN/Voter ID/Driving Licence), 10th and 12th mark sheets, the relevant Diploma/ITI certificate, category certificate where applicable, disability or Ex-Serviceman certificate if relevant, and their bank passbook front page for fee refund. Cook ‘A’ applicants additionally need experience certificates, and Fireman ‘A’ applicants must upload their Preliminary Medical Examination Certificate. Files must be clean scans in the prescribed jpeg/pdf format, under 1MB each.

- Choose your written test city — Tirunelveli or Chennai. This choice is final and cannot be changed later.
- Pay the application fee online through the SBI e-payment gateway before the closing date, 05.10.2026, 16:00 Hrs.
- Download and save your generated Application Form for your own records — it does not need to be posted to IPRC.

- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
- The posts are temporary in nature but are expected to continue indefinitely.
- Initial posting will be at IPRC, Mahendragiri, but selected candidates can later be posted to any ISRO/Department of Space centre in India.
- Employees of Central/State Government, PSUs or autonomous bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of the Skill Test.
- Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application and fee for each post.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
$Frequently Asked Questions
Is this recruitment online or offline?
Fully online. Physical applications, emails, or CVs sent directly to IPRC will not be considered.
Can I change my written test city after submitting the form?
No. The choice of test city (Tirunelveli or Chennai) made at the time of application is final and cannot be changed under any circumstance.
Does the Skill Test score count towards final selection?
No. The Skill Test is qualifying in nature (GO/NO-GO). Final selection is based purely on Written Test marks.
Is the application fee refundable?
Yes, but only for candidates who appear in the Written Test. Female, SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman and PwBD candidates get a full refund; other candidates get a partial refund after deducting a nominal amount.
Where will I be posted after selection?
